About Us
Heidi & Herman (Über Oompah Duo)
Heidi & Herman, the "duo version" of Über Oompah, are a husband and wife team from the Adelaide Hills, of German heritage, performing on accordions and alpine bells and wearing authentic traditional clothing from Bavaria in southern Germany. Perfect for smaller venues, we perform every week at various German Restaurants in Hahndorf, South Australia.
Our other major performances have included the Barossa Vintage Festival, Hahndorf Oktoberfest, Schützenfest Adelaide, and Oktoberfest in the Gardens. We have performed interstate at the Melbourne Hofbrauhaus, various German and Austrian Clubs, and even in Germany at the worlds oldest brewery, Weihenstephan.
You may have also seen us on the Channel 9 "Travel Guides", Channel 10 "Amazing Race Australia" and ABC "Back Roads" TV Shows.

For corporate events and festivals we add even more fun with additional performers - featuring Hildegard from Stuttgart on German/English Vocals and Yodelling, Hans the Helicon Tuba player plus extra musicians as needed. We can perform in various combinations as three, four, five or more musicians depending on your budget.
Our repertoire includes Polkas, German Traditional, Oberkrainer, Alpine Folk, Oktoberfest Hits, and of course...Oompah music!

Since he found Uncle Helmut's old accordion mysteriously hidden in the back of a cupboard when he was just age nine, Herman has not looked back. Watch his fingers fly over the keyboard as he skilfully performs all his own accordion stunts!

Heidi, born and raised in Germany, accompanies Herman - playing rhythm accordion and harmonies, yodelling and singing along...and smiling because she is having way too much fun :) She is also awesome on the Alpine Bells!

Hildegard (from Stuttgart) is like a ray of sunshine, funny and talented, and she really loves to sing - in German and in English! She is also an excellent yodeller. As a recent German migrant she has a witty German sense of humour and loves to entertain the crowd!

Our wonderful tuba player Hans adds even "more Oompah" with his amazing 90 year old fully restored giant antique Helicon Tuba - likely the only instrument of its kind still operational in Australia!
Hans is entertaining and informative and loves to tell the history of this amazing and unique instrument.
